Consent to payment via Direct Debit

The undersigned (“the payer”) consents that payment may be made via withdrawal from the specified account or via an account later specified by the payer, at the request of the specified payee for payment to that party on a certain day (the “due date”) via Direct Debit. The payer agrees that the processing of personal data provided in this consent form may be processed by the payer’s payment service provider, the payee, the payee’s payment service provider and Bankgirocentralen BGC AB for the purposes of the administration of the service. The data controllers for this personal data processing are the payer’s payment service provider, the payee and the payee’s payment service provider. The payer may request access to or rectification of the personal data at any time by contacting the payer’s payment service provider. Additional information about the processing of personal data in connection with payments can be found in the terms for the account and in the agreement with the payee. The payer may withdraw her/his consent at any time, which means that the service will be terminated in its entirety.

General information

Direct debit is a payment service whereby payments are made from the payer’s account at the initiative of the payee. In order for the payer to be able to pay via Direct Debit, the payer must give her/his consent to the payee that the payee may initiate payments from the payer’s account. In addition, the payer’s payment service provider (e.g., a bank or payment institution) must approve that the account may be used for Direct Debit and the payee must approve the payer as a user of Direct Debit. The payer’s payment service provider is not obliged to check the eligibility of the payer or to notify the payer in advance of requested withdrawals. Withdrawals are charged to the payer’s account according to the rules that apply with the payer’s payment service provider. The payer receives notifications of withdrawal from her/his payment service provider. At the payer’s request, the consent may be transferred to another account with the payment service provider or to an account with another payment service provider.

Definition of banking day

A “banking day” means all days except Saturday, Sunday, Midsummer’s Eve, Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve, or another public holiday.

Information about payment

The payer will be notified by the payee of the amount, due date and payment method no later than eight business days before the due date. This notice may be provided before each individual due date or on one occasion regarding several future due dates. If the notice refers to several future due dates, the notice must be submitted no later than eight banking days before the first due date. However, this does not apply in cases where the payer has approved the withdrawal in connection with the purchase or order of goods or services. In such a case, the payer receives notification from the payee of the amount, due date and method of payment in connection with the purchase and/or order. By signing this consent, the payer consents to the payment of payments covered by the payee’s notification under this section.

Sufficient funds must be in the account

The payer must ensure that sufficient funds are in the account no later than 00:01 on the due date. If the payer does not have sufficient funds in the account on the due date, this may mean that payments are not made. If there are not sufficient funds for payment on the due date, the payee may make further withdrawal attempts during the coming banking days. Upon request, the payer may receive information from the payee about the number of withdrawal attempts.

Stop payment (withdrawal of a payment order)

The payer may stop a payment by contacting either the payee no later than two banking days before the due date or her/his payment service provider no later than the banking day before the due date at the time specified by the payment service provider. If the payer stops a payment as above, this means that the payment in question is stopped on an individual occasion. If the payer wants all future payments initiated by the payee to be stopped, the payer must revoke her/his consent.

Validity of the consent, revocation The consent is valid until further notice. The payer has the right to withdraw her/his consent at any time by contacting the payee or her/his payment service provider. To stop payments that have not yet been made, the notice of revocation of the consent must be received by the payee no later than five banking days before the due date or alternatively be received by the payer's payment service provider no later than the banking day before the due date at the time specified by the payment service provider.

The right of the payee and the payer’s payment service provider to terminate the connection to Direct Debit The payee has the right to terminate the payer’s connection to Direct Debit thirty days after the payee has notified the payer of the payee’s intention to do so. However, the payee has the right to immediately terminate the payer’s connection to Direct Debit if the payer has repeatedly lacked a sufficient account balance on the due date or if the account to which the consent relates is closed or if the payee deems that the payer should not participate in Direct Debit for other reasons. The payer’s payment service provider has the right to terminate the payer’s connection to Direct Debit in accordance with the terms that apply between the payer’s payment service provider and the payer.
